Liberica accounts for only 2% of the world’s coffee, and of that small amount, 1.1% is still cultivated in its place of origin—Lipa, Batangas, where it’s been growing since the 1740s.

Why It's Called Barako

The name "Barako" comes from the Filipino word for “stud” or “wild boar”—a symbol of toughness, strength, and raw power.
